The Young Princess Elizabeth fell in love with Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark at a young age.
The couple were secretly engaged 4 months before it was officially announced.
They were married in 1947, the first glittering royal event since the end of World War 2, and the last until Elizabeth's Coronation.
When Elizabeth ascended to the Throne in 1952, Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was required to walk 4 paces behind his wife.
In 1957, Elizabeth granted him the title of Prince of The United Kingdom.
They had four Children, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, in 1947, Princess Anne, The Princess Royal in 1950,
Prince Andrew, The Duke of York in 1960, and Prince Edward, The Earl of Wessex in 1964.
Elizabeth and Philip Celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on November 20, 1997.
Now how is that for a royal marrige that stands the test of time!
